Home Folder:
This folder will go home each day, so please make sure you check it daily. You will usually find it PACKED with classwork, homework, projects, fliers, notes from the office, as well as notes from me. As daunting as it may be, try to sort through them and read each one; they often contain important information and reminders. Your child should come to school the next day with a fairly empty folder - just homework to turn in, notes to me, and/or lunch money.
Any cash sent to school MUST be sent with a note with your child’s full name and what that money is for. If a check is sent in, please make sure you indicate on the memo line what the check is for. This helps us to keep good records and prevent lost money.

Keeping in Touch:
I will contact parents throughout the school year to let you know how your child is doing in fourth grade. You may also reach me by note, telephone, or email if you have any questions or concerns. There is a Contact Me page on this website where you can find all of my contact information. I prefer to be contacted by email if possible. I will also post important information on this website and send home weekly classroom newsletters to keep you informed about classroom happenings.
Coming to School & Dismissal:
School starts daily at 8:00. Dismissal is at 2:50 every day. It is so important that your child comes to school. Attendance and punctuality are extremely important if your child is going to be successful. If your student arrives after 8:00 a.m., they will be considered tardy and must check in at the office before coming to our classroom.
Please let me know how your child is getting home each day. If there is going to be a change in transportation, you MUST call the office at (918) 396-5745 to notify the school of a change. It is best if you call before 2:00 so we can make sure to get that changed before we dismiss. Written notes from home no longer work; you must notify the office to change transportation, especially to ride a different bus.
*I cannot change your child's transportation just based on their word. I have to get some sort of confirmation from a parent. If a child tells me, "I'm going ____ today," which is different from their normal routine, and I have no confirmation from a parent, I will send them home the normal way. You must let us know if there is a change.

Lunch Money:
Students are only allowed to eat a school lunch if they have money in their account. You may pay for lunch in advance for the whole year if you would like, or you may pay as needed. If a check is sent in, please make sure you indicate on the memo line what the check is for. This helps us to keep good records and prevent lost money. If you send in cash, please label an envelope as follows:
Student’s Name
Miss Stockton
What the Money is For (e.g: Lunch $, Field Trip $, etc...)

Grades:
Students will receive reading and language grades from me. I cannot stress enough that a teacher does not GIVE grades; a student EARNS grades. Please keep this in mind if your child is bringing home grades that are lower than you would like. If your child is struggling, please let me know, and I will be happy to work with him/her, but the grades will always reflect the quality of the student's work.
Birthdays:
We do not celebrate birthdays in class with treats. This is a school rule. I always give students a little something for their birthday, but we will not stop class to celebrate, and no treats are allowed. Please respect this rule.
Book Orders:
I will send home book orders monthly. You may turn in the paper order forms with a check made out to Scholastic Book Clubs, or you may order online. I recommend ordering online. This makes it easier for me to order, and our class earns points toward books with every online parent order! Here is the link to order from Scholastic:
